Are you as frustrated as I am?? My father passed away in April, leaving me to care fully for my developmentally handicapped brother Robert. It has been one nightmare after another dealing with the APD and even Medicaid! This "tier" system is ridiculous and only serves to try and hide the massive cuts they are inflicting on helpless disabled individuals who have no voice or representation nor any way to defend themselves!! The only advocates aside from family are the support coordinators and guess what? Dozens if not hundreds of them are quitting because they can no longer afford to feed and care for their families with the measley pay Tallahassee has decided to give them. God bless the ones who are staying.
If anyone knows of local support groups I am open to attending. If there aren't any and you are interested in starting one please call me!! Enough is enough! We've got to join together on this. These cuts WILL adversly affect the health and well being of disabled adults and children and that is wrong!
